Rose & Cuir has all the features of Jean-Claude Ellen's original style: it is contrasting and romantic. The fragrance opens with airy notes of rose - clean, elegant and fresh. The sparkling floral sound passes into the note of leather. Dry notes of vetiver and cedar give a special rigor, which is characteristic of classical works, while rose and leather sing the excess of feelings and emotions.
A ringing note of blackcurrant, special extracts of Thyme pepper and Bourbon geranium are new perfume ingredients specially made at Jean-Claude's request. They add freshness and spiciness to the composition.
The richness of the fragrance is achieved through the use of isobutyl quinoline, a now forgotten component that was first synthesized in the early 20th century and was actively used by perfumers in the 50s to create bold leather fragrances.
