In 2015, Alessandro Michele became the creative director of the brand. In 2019, the fashion house released an updated collection of Gucci cosmetics, marking the dawn of a new era in Gucci Beauty. In Alessandro Michele’s view, makeup is a manifesto of beauty. As a true guru of self-expression beyond any boundaries, the creative director believes that makeup reveals a person’s character and personality. Makeup should not hide flaws – on the contrary, it should highlight them, helping true beauty to emerge.
Imperfections should be visible, not hidden. This way, everyone can create the makeup they want, revealing their own "self," allowing themselves to be themselves or transform into who they have always wanted to be.
